Never forget: MUSIC IS FUN! Lessons, practicing, and performances should also be fun. Gwen encourages students to find the joy in making music for themselves and others. She empowers students to recognize their own innate musical abilities and to hear the song that already lives within them. Students of all ages and abilities can expect a well-rounded approach to music education and a learning experience tailored to what inspires them. Lesson focus can include theory, ear training, sight reading, lead sheet notation, improvisation, and countless other facets of musicianship. However, building musical self-esteem remains the foundation for every lesson.

Gwen is a performing artist from Chicago. On her fifth birthday, she chose piano lessons over a Disney vacation foreshadowing her lifelong passion for music. As an undergraduate at Loyola University, Gwen studied classical piano under Haysun Kang. Upon graduation she continued her education with renowned jazz pianists Anthony Molinaro and Erwin Helfer. As a recipient of Loyola University’s Ricci Scholarship, Gwen spent 12 months on location researching opera in Rome, Italy and Beijing, China.

Gwen has been a member of numerous bands as both a keyboardist and lead vocalist giving her a wide breadth of musical experience. Other achievements include writing and recording a solo album, touring nationally, and performing at music festivals.  She has taken the stage at venues such as Aragon Ballroom, Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, Arlene's Grocery NYC, and Grog Shop in Cleveland.
