Alan Lewis is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and sound engineer who has been performing since the age of four. He strongly believes that making music should be inspiring, fulfilling, and fun. His teaching philosophy is based on “learning by ear” which is fundamental to playing and songwriting. He trains his students’ musical ear with songs THEY want to learn, and helps them achieve the goals they have set for their learning experience. Through these songs he teaches chords, rhythm, melody, songwriting, and performance skills. He is a patient teacher with students of all levels who wish to learn voice, piano, recording studio techniques, live sound, as well as to write and perform their own material.

Alan has been making music in his hometown of Chicago since 1991. He has performed at stadiums and music venues around the world including the Allstate Arena, Fiserv Forum, the Metro, and Aragon Ballroom. He has recorded and co-produced eight albums on which he sang lead and backing vocals; wrote orchestral arrangements; and played keyboards and many other instruments. He has worked with producers who have collaborated with well-known artists including Lady Gaga, Smashing Pumpkins, Anthrax, and Wilco. His voice has been featured with the artist Pitbull on TV advertisements for Carnival Cruise Lines, as well as sports radio ads for the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State college football.

For seven years Alan fronted Wedding Banned, one of the most successful cover bands in the Midwest who perform over 135 shows annually. Previously he spent three years performing as Bono in Vertigo USA, the official U2 Tribute Band for their own international touring company ETS. He also worked six years as a corporate trainer where he instructed thousands of adult learners on selling techniques and technology.

Currently he is the lead vocalist and songwriter of Chicago’s own Glam Rock band V Sparks, who have been featured in Guitar Magazine, Sirius XM Radio, WKQX 101, and were selected as Best New Artist by Little Steven’s Underground Garage. They have shared the stage with the New York Dolls, OK GO, and Lucky Boys Confusion. Raised by a family of musicians, Alan’s singing, piano playing, and songwriting well exceed his years. He carries a lyrical sensitivity, a maturity, and a sophistication spanning rock, electro-dance, musical theater, jazz, and orchestral territories.
